An Award Winning Year for Hampshire Cheese Company
31 October 2023 Hampshire Cheese Co

The team at Hampshire Cheese Company were celebrating once again as Winslade and Tunworth were recognised once again at the World Cheese Awards 2023.

Stacey Hedges, founder, Hampshire Cheese Company, said: “We are delighted to have been granted these awards. Competing on a global stage is tough, and we are thrilled to be among a host of British artisan cheeses to have been recognised.”

The World Cheese Awards are run by the Guild of Fine Food, and is a major event in the global cheese calendar. It brings together cheese experts to judge over 4,000 cheeses from 40 countries. This year’s ceremony took place in Trondheim, Norway. Judges, including technical experts, buyers, retailers and food writers, work in teams of three and over the course of one day identify cheeses worthy of gold, silver or bronze awards. They look at the rind and body of the cheese, its colour, texture, consistency and taste.

These awards are the latest in a list of accolades for Tunworth and Winslade. During 2023, the Hampshire Cheese team has accrued a string of awards, including:

  • Tunworth
    • 2023 World Cheese Awards – Silver Medal
    • 2023 Great Taste Awards – Two Gold Stars
