In our spotlight series on suppliers of artisan cheese, today we go behind the scenes with The Fine Cheese Co.
Stacey Hedges is passionate about artisan cheese suppliers. Cheese lovers and restaurateurs around the world like to buy from experts who really know and understand their cheeses, can advise on storing, cooking and sell the cheese at the perfect ripeness.
The Fine Cheese Co. is deserving of its reputation as a supplier of outstanding quality cheese offered by a passionate team who are proud of their exemplary knowledge. As a maturer, wholesaler, retailer and exporter of artisan British cheeses, all of which are traditionally made, The Fine Cheese Co. is a cornerstone of the British cheese market.
It was founded by Ann-Marie Dyas over thirty years ago, an advocate of traditional cheese-making, a judge at both the British and World Cheese Awards and winner of a Lifetime Achievement Award from The Guild of Fine Food in 2005. Since her sad passing, The Fine Cheese Co. continues Ann-Marie’s vision, providing a knowledgeable and dedicated service both in person and online with a wide variety of specialist produce.
The two shops, one in Walcot Street, Bath and the other in Motcomb Street, Belgravia, stock hundreds of artisan cheeses as well as charcuterie, wines, chocolates and other fine products, all laid out beautifully with knowledgeable staff eager to help with your selection.
Both shops also provide the opportunity to dine in – with their in-house chefs creating delicious dishes, all made from scratch using the best ingredients. Whether you’re looking for breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea, their mouth watering menus offer an experience you won’t want to miss.
The Fine Cheese Co. understands that their success is due to the passion, expertise and enthusiasm of all the staff across all elements of their business. This is evident again with their courses and events, all sharing in-depth knowledge of cheese.
For gifts, to order online for your daily cheese supplies or for your wedding cheesecake, either visit their shops or see The Fine Cheese Co. You can find Tunworth and Winslade online and in their shops.
